Candy Mountain Film Co. is an independent documentary studio. Their Small Town series emerged through observation rather than pre-scripted themes, requiring a visual identity grounded in restraint and authenticity.

Service developed the brand and art direction for both the film collective and the series, drawing from gestural mark-making and collage. Hand-rendered typography and deliberate imperfection mirror the work’s unfiltered approach to storytelling.

This system extends beyond the films into the Small Town Map—an interactive platform linking episodes to real locations and reframing the series as a spatial, exploratory experience.
